The project adopts the local school prototype based in the new seismic codes implemented after the massive earthquake that hit the region, also integrates local vernacular architecture features. Architectural and structural upgrades are made to an existing project. As a result, instead of replicating the building destroyed by the earthquake, the structural performance is reviewed as the project seeks greater local identity with small interventions that generate a more playful and dynamic environment.
